There’s something about a new Malayalam series that makes you curious, especially when you have no idea what to expect from it. Kappi Squad is one such series that has now landed on JioHotstar, and the first four episodes are available to stream.
Directed by Srikanth Mohan, the series features Rinosh George, Anagha Ajith, Diya Deepan, Joel Joseph, Abhirami Dayanandan and Rahul Riji Nair.
With a title like Kappi Squad, you might expect something with a casual, youthful vibe. And honestly, it sounds like the kind of show you’d want to put on when you’re in the mood to try something new without committing to a long movie or a complicated series.
The show has six familiar and fresh faces in the cast, which makes it interesting to see how the characters come together as the story moves forward. Since it follows a weekly release format, there’s also that little wait between episodes, giving viewers time to talk about what they’ve watched and guess what might happen next.
Another plus is the language availability. Whether you prefer Malayalam or want to watch it in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Hindi, the series is available on JioHotstar in all five languages.
Of course, four episodes are still too early to make a final judgement on the series as a whole. The real question is whether Kappi Squad can keep things interesting as more episodes arrive and give viewers a reason to stick around every week.
