Ma Ka Sum Web Series Review:

Just finished watching Ma Ka Sum on Amazon Prime Video… and honestly, it feels like one of those shows that really wants to be raw and real, but doesn’t always know how to hold it together.
Directed by Nicholas Kharkongor, the series leans heavily into that grounded, slice-of-life kind of storytelling. No over-the-top drama, no glossy treatment — just people, their flaws, and messy situations. And yeah, that part actually works in bits.
Coming to the cast — Mihir Ahuja does a solid job. He keeps things pretty natural, like he’s not trying too hard, which suits the tone. Mona Singh is easily one of the stronger presences here — she brings a kind of ease and maturity that makes her scenes more watchable.
Angira Dhar is decent, especially in emotional portions, though not all her scenes hit equally. Ranveer Brar is interesting to watch — there’s a calmness in his performance that works, even if the role itself isn’t very layered. Ashish Wadde fits into the narrative fine, nothing standout but does what’s needed.
What works is the realism. Conversations feel casual, situations don’t feel forced. But the problem is — that same realism sometimes makes it feel like nothing is really happening. The pacing goes up and down… one episode pulls you in, the next one kind of drags.
Also, it has that bold, slightly edgy tone in places, which might not work for everyone.
Overall, Ma Ka Sum is not a bad watch. It has moments where it feels honest and relatable, but it doesn’t fully stay engaging throughout.
It’s one of those shows you don’t hate… but you’re also not thinking about it much after it ends.
