Minions & Monsters Review:
If you are looking for something light, funny and easy to watch, Minions & Monsters is a decent pick on JioHotstar. The comedy animation film features silly humor, adventure and some surprising characters.
Directed by Pierre Coffin, the movie features a great cast of voice actors, including Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan and Phil LaMarr. In addition, Pierre Coffin provides his voice for the film.
The plot takes audiences on an unusual journey into the period setting where they can find some peculiar characters, monsters and many comedic moments. The movie is not taking itself seriously, and this aspect makes it more attractive. There are quite a lot of humorous moments, and they all fit into the general atmosphere.
The animation looks colorful and dynamic, while the humor is obviously meant for fans of animated comedies. Some jokes are extremely funny, and some others are rather predictable. Nevertheless, the film moves on without dragging.
The voice performances are another plus. The experienced cast gives the characters enough personality, especially during the more chaotic and funny sequences.
Minions & Monsters might not be the type of animated movie that will shock you out of your socks, but it achieves exactly what it sets out to do: amuse. It is an easy, fun film to watch, perfect for an easy evening, if you are into animated films with a bit of history sprinkled in them.
Conclusion
Minions & Monsters is an entertaining and madcap animated comedy with lots of colour, great voices and plenty of jokes. Don’t come into it looking for a story. Just take it all in and laugh.
