Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar review:
Some crime dramas pull you in with a gripping mystery, while others make you stay for the characters and the way the story slowly unfolds. Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar, now streaming on Netflix, tries to do a bit of both.
Shahad Nilambur directs the Malayalam crime drama which has Parvathy Thiruvothu, Mathew Thomas, Sidharth Bharathan, Vijayaraghavan and Unnimaya Prasad playing vital roles.
There is an interesting storyline, and there is definitely enough material in the film to pique your interest about what might happen next. While the crime aspect certainly lends a sense of intrigue to the storyline, characters play their own role in adding layers to the whole scenario. The movie is such that you can’t help but search for clues, trying to figure out whether everything is actually as it seems.
Still, a lot will depend on how much you enjoy the storytelling in it. While a crime drama requires something more than a mysterious plotline, the script itself, its rhythm, and build-up of suspense are equally important. When these aspects aren’t maintained throughout the movie, there may be some dull moments.
The cast is definitely one of the reasons to give this film a look. Parvathy Thiruvothu exudes her typical on-
screen presence, and Mathew Thomas and Sidharth Bharathan also join the cast. With actors such as Vijayaraghavan and Unnimaya Prasad already forming part of the cast, there is no shortage of acting talent around.
What works in the film’s favour is its attempt to keep the audience curious rather than simply relying on the usual crime-drama formula. But whether the mystery fully pays off is something viewers will have to decide for themselves.

Final verdict: Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar is worth checking out if Malayalam crime dramas are your thing. It has a good premise and great cast, but not everyone might like how the story is told. Watch this movie on Netflix if you want to see a crime thriller, but be warned that it’s not going to be a perfect one.
