Pyaar Prema Kalyanam Review

Pyaar Prema Kalyanam is now on Netflix. This Tamil romantic family movie has a twist on the usual marriage story. Elan directed the movie. He also acts in it as the lead. The movie stars Saanve Megghana as Pavi. It also has Radhikaa Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, MS Bhaskar, Geetha Kailasam and others in roles. The movie came out on Netflix on August 21.

Story

The story is about Pavi. She is an influencer who does not want to leave her family home even after getting married. So her husband moves into her house. This creates a lot of situations and funny moments.

The movie is about love and adjusting to each others way of life. What starts as a living arrangement slowly becomes a story about family and expectations.

Review

The best thing about Pyaar Prema Kalyanam is its idea. The movie takes something and turns it into a light-hearted romantic story. Elan keeps the movie simple. There are comedy moments and family situations to keep things moving. Some scenes are really good.

Saanve Megghana does a job as Pavi. She brings a feel to the character. Elan has a job because he is the director and the lead actor. He fits the character of the husband reasonably well.

The supporting cast is also good. Radhikaa Sarathkumar and MS Bhaskar bring a family presence that makes the emotional parts feel familiar. Yogi Babu adds some fun to the movie.

Pyaar Prema Kalyanam does not try to be a romantic-comedy movie. It focuses on a question. What happens when a newly married couple decides to break the rules and live life on their own terms?

There are moments where the movie feels a little slow.. If you watch it expecting a light romantic movie it works better. Yuvan Shankar Rajas music is also nice.

Final Verdict

Pyaar Prema Kalyanam is a choice for a weekend watch. It has romance, family drama, comedy and a different take on life. It may not be perfect. It is a nice movie.

If you like Tamil romantic comedies with family emotions Pyaar Prema Kalyanam is worth watching.
