There are not many filmmakers who try to do something new and Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is one of them. Sing Geetham is not like movies. It is a fantasy film that also talks about social issues. Sometimes it. Sometimes it does not.. It always stays true to what it wants to say. You can watch Sing Geetham on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. This means more people can see it.
The story is about a village that is losing its beauty. This is happening because of mining. There is a tree in the village and a mysterious curse that changes everything. What makes Sing Geetham special is the way it tells the story. Of just talking the characters often sing about what they are feeling. This is an idea and it takes some time to get used to.
Ayaan K does a job playing the young man in the story. Shalini Kondepudi and Ahilya Bamroo fit in well with the film. Tulasi Shivamani and Banerjee are experienced actors who add depth to the movie. Most of the actors are new so they bring a sense of honesty to their roles.

The movie looks very nice. The way it shows nature and the damaged landscape helps to tell the story about taking care of the environment. The songs are not just for entertainment. They actually help to move the story. This is not something you see in movies.
Sing Geetham is not for everyone. The movie is slow at times. The musical format may not be what some viewers are used to. Some scenes feel a bit long. Editing them tighter could have made the emotional parts even stronger.
However if you are willing to try something Sing Geetham has a lot to offer. It reminds us that movies do not have to be the same all the time. A simple story that is told in an imaginative way can be very powerful.
Verdict: Sing Geetham is a musical fantasy film because it is brave enough to be different. It may not be for every viewer. People who like meaningful stories, with fantasy and social issues will probably enjoy Sing Geetham.
