Varam Episodes 1-2 Review: An Interesting Start, But Does It Have Enough to Keep Us Hooked?

Varam

Some stories take their own sweet time to get going, and Varam feels like one of those series where things are slowly being set up in the opening episodes. The Telugu weekly series, helmed by Aditya, has been released on the online platform JioHotstar, and the first two episodes have given a glimpse into something which might turn out to be quite an interesting story.

One such aspect of the weekly series that makes it interesting is definitely the cast. The names of Vishwadev Rachakonda, Shivathmika Rajashekar, and Srinivasa Avasarala are quite familiar, and it would be exciting to witness the characters played by them in the series and how they grow with the development of the story. Speaking of which, Srinivasa Avasarala is definitely a star that I look forward to watching in every movie, owing to his screen presence and the type of characters he plays.

Moving on to the first two episodes, it would not be appropriate to comment on the whole series right now since it is coming out on a weekly basis. However, it must be remembered that the first couple of episodes must have something that would make viewers come back for more.

Personally, I would be glad to have some action in the plot, giving us more reasons to stick to it and follow its development. It is important for any weekly TV serial to provide that “something” which will make you want to watch the next episode.

A positive point about the serial is that it exists in several languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, and Marathi.

Final Verdict:

Varam has just started its journey, so it’s a little too early to call it a hit or a miss. The first two episodes are more about getting things moving, and the real judgment will depend on how well the story unfolds in the coming weeks. With a cast like Vishwadev Rachakonda, Shivathmika Rajashekar and Srinivasa Avasarala, there’s enough reason to keep an eye on it for now.
