Veduka Movie Review: Simple love story… feels like something from another time

Veduka is now streaming on ETV Win, and watching it honestly feels like going back to an older era of Telugu cinema. Not in a bad way… just slower, simpler, less complicated.
Directed by Jitender Y., the film stars Raja and Poonam Bajwa, along with Naresh, Satyam Rajesh, Ahuti Prasad, and Dharmavarapu Subramanyam.

Story (very familiar… but okay)

The story is super basic.
Harini (Poonam Bajwa) is this playful girl who enjoys teasing people just for fun.

Then there’s Srikar (Raja), a calm, straightforward guy who actually cares about others and spends money helping them instead of showing off.

They don’t get along at first, then slowly become friends… and yeah, it turns into love. Add some misunderstandings, emotional scenes, and you already know where it’s heading.

Nothing new at all — but it’s told in a decent, watchable way.

What works

Performances are actually pretty decent.

Raja keeps it simple and natural — no over-the-top hero stuff. Poonam Bajwa brings good energy, especially in the first half. She’s lively and makes those early scenes more engaging.

The supporting cast gives that old-school Telugu movie feel. Family scenes are a big part of the film, and they add a certain warmth. It feels very “safe” to watch — like something you can sit and watch with family without worrying.

Music is soft and pleasant. Not something you’ll keep on repeat, but it fits the mood of the film.

What doesn’t work

Now the honest part…
The film is slow. At times, very slow. Some scenes feel stretched for no real reason.

Also, the story is completely predictable. There’s no surprise element at all. You can guess most of it way before it happens.

Comedy is hit or miss. A few scenes work, but a lot of it feels unnecessary and drags things down.

Overall feeling

Veduka is not a great movie. But it’s not terrible either.
It’s the kind of film you watch when you just want something light, simple, and stress-free. No big twists, no heavy drama — just a straightforward love story.
Yes, it feels outdated now… but there’s a small charm in that simplicity.

Final Verdict

👉 Good for a calm, time-pass watch

👉 Not for those expecting something fresh or fast
